Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim to run for FIFA presidency

Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa,says he has been urged to run for Fifa's presidency by some of Fifa members.

According to theguardian Sheikh Salman, the Asian Football Confederation president, is expected to announce his candidature early next week after agreeing to fill the void created by the suspension of the Uefa president, Michel Platini, over an alleged “disloyal payment” from Blatter, who has also been suspended by world football’s governing body. Sheikh Salman has received backing from football associations around the world, including many in Platini’s Uefa stronghold.

But human rights organisations have reacted furiously, resurrecting claims that Sheikh Salman was involved in identifying athletes involved in pro-democracy demonstrations in 2011, some of whom were then allegedly imprisoned and tortured. “Since the peaceful anti-government protests of 2011, which the authorities responded to with brutal and lethal force, the al-Khalifa family have overseen a campaign of torture and mass incarceration that has decimated Bahrain’s pro-democracy movement,” said Nicholas McGeehan, the Gulf researcher at Human Rights Watch. “If a member of Bahrain’s royal family is the cleanest pair of hands that Fifa can find, then the organisation would appear to have the shallowest and least ethical pool of talent in world sport.”..visit theguardian to get more of the story.

BARCELONA RESPONDS TO MERCY'S EXIT RUMOUR

The Argentine has been linked with a sensational switch to the Premier League although the club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu has rubbished rumours he is looking to leave.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has responded angrily to reports suggesting Lionel Messi will leave the club, insisting that the reports are "embarrassing".

Argentine forward Messi, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, has been linked with a Camp Nou exit, with newspaper reports suggesting that he is considering his options at Barca and would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Bartomeu has has taken a dim view of the reports, though, and refuted any suggestions that the 28-year-old is looking for a way out. He told 8TV: "People who say Messi is leaving Barcelona should be embarrassed.

"Messi is recovering for the Madrid-Barcelona game. He is hoping to play El Clasico, but injuries have their process.

"Leo and his father said they don't imagine playing at another club. The relationship with the family is very good. We are not in the negotiation phase yet, when the time comes it will be presented.

"He has a contract for the next three seasons. Messi is very angry about the Spanish taxation. It is not normal, the information published on Leo Messi. If his tax advisers have made a mistake they have to pay like everyone else. Messi deserves respect as all do."...news from goal.com

SCIENTISTS MAY HAVE FOUND CURE FOR BALDNESS IN MEN AND WOMEN

The drug inhibits the Janus Kinase (JAK) family of enzymes inside hair follicles that are suspended in a resting state – essentially ‘waking’ the hair up.

 

"What we’ve found is promising, though we haven’t yet shown it’s a cure for pattern baldness" Dr Angela Christiano from Columbia University, said.

"More work needs to be done to test if JAK inhibitors can induce hair growth in humans using formulations specially made for the scalp."

Concluding part of BETRAYAL BEYOND MEASURE

               There was one out of these numbers that caught her eye. The number was not saved..but it looked so familiar, and this particular bone he was always excusing himself to pick. When the time came for her to leave and go back to school, she decided she was going to dial the number on her phone. A name came up. It was her room mate back  in school. Well, obviously she was dreaming or so she thought.
              She decided to keep to herself. Once she was in school, she narrated the whole thing top her twin sister. That was when they came up with a wonderful plan, but what baffled them the most was how her boyfriend and her room mate who has never set eyes on each other could have anything to do with each other.

              Her room mate, gave her a very warm welcome when she came in earlier that day, saying she had been expecting her and that the most important of it all was, she needed to tell her she'd also be traveling the next day to visit her mom. That was what triggered the twins plan.
              Their roomie left in the early hours of the day she was meant to go visit her mom, they wished her Godspeed but little did she know that she was being followed.
              When she got to her destination. The twins were shocked to know that it was indeed not her mother's house she went to liker she claimed but one of the twins' boyfriend's house (the one who had been suspecting all along). They gave her time to settle down after which they also went in.
               There was nothing to say, words were left unsaid, with the four of them in the room, looking at each other, each one wondering what the other was doing there. It was indeed a betrayal beyond measure.

LESSON LEARNT - Betrayal beyond measure

           Someone once told me, experience is the best teacher. Well, in this case, it just might be true, but to me, it's a lesson I learnt from other's experience.
           See, there's this girl, who fell in love with a guy below her class and I really mean way, way below her class. Of-course everyone tried talking her out of it but, you know love. It is what it is. She didn't listen, they kept telling her he was a player but she was convinced he had changed. Well, since there's little one could say or do, they left the two alone and gave them their best.
           After a going out for a year or there a bout, things started to change. She schooled at a distant town from where he lived, while he worked. As it was, whenever there's a vacation or holiday or whenever she had time to spare..she'd spend it at his place. This fateful day on one of her visitings, she noticed a number was always calling him. Who it was?....to be continued.
