'Radio Biafra transmitters installed on MTN masts'

Abuja - The Federal Government has revealed that the transmitters used in broadcasting messages from Radio Biafra, were installed on the masts of telecommunication firm, MTN in Enugu and Anambra States.

It further stated that the installation of the transmitters on the telecommunications company’s masts was done so as messages of Radio Biafra will enjoy a wider coverage.

This was contained in the case summary of fresh six count-charges the government instituted against the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and two others, before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Federal Director of Public Prosecutions, Mohammed Diri, who signed the fresh charges, the case summary and other processes accompanying them on behalf of the government, alleged that Nwawuisi installed the transmitters on MTN masts “on request by an IPOB member, Chidibere Onwudiwe.”
