The Kogi State governor, Governor Ibrahim Wada's 10bn Naira loan request was described by the APC (all progressives congress) as a financial daydreaming. They went on to say that it was obvious his desires were to use the money for his own re-election ambition.
Now according to THEGUARDIAN,
In a statement by Tom Ohikere, APC said with the November 21 governorship election barely three weeks away, “Capt. Idris Wada wants to take N10billion loan on the state’s share of the excess crude account to throw about as he did during the governorship primary election of PDP (Peoples Democratic Party)”.
“We are compelled to make this known to millions of Kogi citizens especially the civil servants who have been suffering under the oppressive yoke of the present state government headed by Capt. Wada. This desperation to obtain a quick loan is explained by the delay in the release of the bail-out fund which he has planned to invest into his governorship election,” the statement added noting however that Kogi State was yet to officially qualify for the bail-out fund.
