She met him and made a deal with him. The deal was that he was going to teach her to sing and in return she'd pay him $500. Wow, that was a lot of money...for someone like him who lived on shifts to shifts, it could change his life.
He declined the money, but he asked for something else in return. He could barely speak English...he was struggling with the language and since she was learned studied and living in London, he figured she could help.
