Abubakar approves N100m for renovation of presidential lodge
DUTSE:- Jigawa state Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved the award of N100m contract for the renovation of the presidential lodge in the state to keep it to standard. While disclosing this shortly after the 4th executive council meeting held at government house, Dutse, the commissioner for information, Bala Ibrahim Mamser said that the council in session approved the contract having realized that the presidential wing of the lodge has ram shackled to the extent that it is not fit for lodging guests.
Mr. Mamser did not disclose the name of the contractor nor the terms and condition of the contract but referred journalist to the ministry of works for further details on the award of the contract. Mamser also said that the government has equally approved the revocation of four road contracts awarded by the immediate past administration of Governor Sule Lamido.
He explained that the roads included Kila-Tsangarwa-Wurno-Rambazau-Maruta, Gagarawa-Bosuwa, Tasheguwa-Guri and Gwaram Basirka respectively. Mamser said that the state government was not happy with the performance of the contractors to whom the contracts were earlier awarded and as such, will look into the possibility of rewarding the contracts other firms.
While urging mechanized farmers in the state who benefitted from the tractor loan provided by the past administration to comply with the loan terms, the commissioner warned that “defaulters will face the full wrath of the law”.
